My professional goals as they relate to this program are to keep my teaching current and fun. I want my students to look forward to coming to school each day and to develop an interest in the learning process. I realized that this is also what I want from my own studies and daily work experience. I want choice, flexibility, open ended projects, a clear goal, and of course my students want this too. I feel that this program has invigorated my teaching and learning. I have developed more confidence and patience in my technology skills. I look forward to finding and/or developing TPACK lessons that meet the students' interest, as well as, academic needs.
I have enjoyed the format of the online classes. I struggle to sit and listen to lectures and can get distracted easily. The interactive class time, strong visual content, and cohort presentations have been highly engaging. I appreciate the helpful and positive feedback that the cohort provides. Reading the blogs, watching the presentations, and participating in the small class size discussions has been extremely helpful. I think this has helped to create a steeper learning curve. I must confess that I was intimidated to present, or even write in the blog, but this is a cohort that has been generous in their positive feedback. Cohort members have shared sites, professional connections, insights and skills, all of which has been extremely helpful. I now feel confident that if my cohort can lend me a hand, that they certainly will. I hope that they feel comfortable giving constructive criticism so that my products are improved. They may need to let me know just how to make these improvements too. I suppose going forward I would like my cohort to not hold back when giving constructive criticism so that my Capstone is clear and professional in it's content and so that ALL may benefit from the advise.
