Admittedly my Google Forms use is limited, so brace yourself for a fairly uninspired blog posting. I did make a few questionnaires for this program, but did not put them to their full use. I tried Flubaroo as an add-on, but this too was not seen to fruition. I can appreciate G Forms' versatility and how easy it is to use. The format is intuitive, even for me. I have encouraged the leadership teams at my school site to learn about and utilize the survey aspect of the tool in order to glean staff info while saving meeting time. The articles, “Harnessing the Power of Google Forms for Just-in-Time Teaching” & “The NEW Google Forms: 9 classroom uses” were inspiring and I intend to share them with the upper grades at my school site as I think that they are having their students use their email accounts.
I need to find the time and interest to play more with the forms in order to see how they might best be used in my kinder classroom. This is what I have come up with so far, but am interested to see what my cohorts are doing so that I may improve these lists. Kinder Classroom Uses: Collection of teacher observations Assessments-administered one on one Developing rubrics Parent Surveys Capstone Uses: Teacher survey of mindfulness experience Data collection for mindfulness research Creation of charts and graphs

I think with what you shared and understand about the use of forms, is much more than many other teachers. The process to get these tools running can be tricky, but it is light years away from those who don't even have it on their radar.

I am also in the same boat that I don't have much familiarity with Google Forms. As a second grade teacher, I feel that the lower grades of primary education is lacking the incorporation of technology that is seen in the upper grades, middle school, and high school. I think that is shifting, and I now see digital citizenship and digital skills being taught at my school in kindergarten, which makes sense. By third grade, students are required to navigate state tests via computers and the Web.

Your usage of google forms is similar to mine. It's challenging at our grade level to utilize all the time. I really like your ideas so far of kinder classroom use of these forms. The rubric idea is appealing to me and I am interested to see how it looks and what subject. I think every subject would work. I can see this rubric tailored more for the population in your classroom and school. There are rubrics that come with lessons for assessments but it would be nice to come up with a grade level one.
